A note
Dear Dad,
Happy Father's Day! I want you to know that I am so proud and lucky to be your son. You have shown me and taught me so many amazing life lessons in what it is to be a man, a father, a husband, a son, and so much more. I truly have been blessed to have you as such an important role model in how I navigate life with confidence, ease, and passion.
There are so many memories I have growing up where you were always there guiding me as a father and man. From the time when you kept pushing me to never give up during soccer tryouts (where you were yelling to “catch up to the white boy in front of me”) to the time you stood by me in public and also did a speech in Bundang because I was so shy and scared, you always were that sturdy and loving father that stepped up in front to guide me as a boy to a man. Even though at the time I was so scared, shy, and embarrassed, I am so grateful for having you push me to become better, more confident, and more passionate.
Now that I am a father, as I reflect on these memories, I am so grateful for the life you have provided me. I now have the opportunity to step up in front of Christian, of my family, and to be what you taught me to be and more in God's grace.
Through thick and thin, your passion and earnest love for me and our family is the solid rock that I know you show as an example of the foundation that God provides us to rest and build upon.
I know I will have the rest of my life to thank you, reflect on our experiences, and make new ones. But this Father's Day, as a new father myself, I am thankful and grateful, and blessed to have you as my father.
Love you dad!
— Daniel
Every chapter of you
The same face, the same kind eyes — pictured across traditions and timelines. Including the taekwondo champion you once were.

If he'd been a movie star
Dropped into the posters of Korean cinema's most iconic gangster films — his face, his real glasses and mustache, in the leading role.

Just for fun
